Innocuous is harmful

Homi Adajania deserves a pat on his back for making Being Cyrus. His film has been a breath of fresh air. Before this the pollution was rampant with crap like Malamaal Weekly, Souten and other etcetras and will stay fresh even as more crap comes along! Homi has made a film which makes you think rather than concentrate on neglecting foolishness and illogical crap one usually is subjected to with the current breed of films. After Rang De Basanti, this is a film which will want any movie lover to go to the theatre to have a good time. Being Cyrus is a delicately weaved and efficiently made film. It deceives the viewer into getting relaxed into an atmosphere which then betrays all expectations! The surprise element is back in films. Though the film is in English it should not hinder anyone from understanding it or enjoying it. A must watch!!

Lots of Updates

Its been a while since I wrote. Now I'm going to make up for it. Lots of updates.

As Farhan Akhtar's DON is moving by leaps and bounds, new updates are pouring in everyday. A titbit about Udit Narayan singing for Khaike Paan Banaras is the latest one. Purportedly Udit's gain is Sonu's loss. But hey Udit is senior and North Indian, so its fair and fine! Also SRK is supposed to hum a few lines on one the song. That will be his next after Josh.

Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani are also going ahead with (Farhan assistant) Reema Kagdi's directorial venture Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd. starring a good ensemble. Incidently Nikhil Advani's first non-Dharma venture Salaam-e-Ishq is speculated to have some similarities with Kagdi's project.

Feroz Khan is planning a remake of his very own yestyear hit Qurbaani.

Mani Ratnam is doing Guru with Abhishek, Aishwarya and believe it or not Mallika Sherawat! Like with all Ratnam films, A R Rahman and Gulzar doing Guru's music. Also Vivek Oberoi has quit from Guru. No points for guessing why! ;)
