The Grand Terminal

Today I did what I had left undone in the US. Bought myself a DVD of Steven Spielberg's 'The Terminal'. This adds to my collection of Spielberg's movies, which is now halfway there. Hats off to Spielberg on conceiving and implementing The Terminal. The whole movie happens at the the JFK transit lounge. In inimitable Spielberg style, its a sweet story of an innocuous Krakozian, Vicktor Navorsky, who falls through a 'crack' in the political system to get 'trapped' at the airport. There he finds his way to touch lives of those earning a living on/at the airport in the most amazing ways. The reason of Navorsky's visit to the USA is revealed midway and boasts of imaginative thinking. Excellently shot and written for screen and bolstered by life-like performances by Tom Hanks, Catherine Zeta Jones and the ensemble, this film is a landmark in the art of filmmaking.
