The Rainmaker
Yesterday I watched "The Rainmaker" for, I don't know, the tenth time or so!
A million thanks to John Grisham for writing this amazing story. A billion thanks to Francis Ford Coppolla for writing its screenplay and directing its movie!
A story of a court case pertaining to a low-income family mother from Memphis, Tennessee versus a giant insurance company - Great Benefits - over the denial of a legitimate claim for her son's treatment of leukaemia.
No matter how many times you watch it, the gripping story indulges you like nothing else every time. Matt Damon as the novice lawyer Rudy Baylor, Jon Voight as the shrewd Leo Drummond along with Danny DeVito, Claire Danes and Danny Glover just light up the screen for what is an amazingly conceived and shot court room drama.
